Botanic Gardens

Bayard Cutting Arboretum

The current collection of fir, spruce, pine, cypress, hemlock, yew and other lesser known conifers is still probably the most extensive to be found on Long Island.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Self-guided visits are free, but must be registered in advance. Exploration tours are similar to School Workshops, but are led by volunteer Garden Guides. Guided tours are led by volunteer Garden Guides. Students explore the gardens in small groups ($77 per class). Students will post plants or seeds to bring home and tour the plant collections. New York Chinese Scholar Gardens

Part of the Staten Island Botanical Garden, this Garden, designed and built by Landscape Architecture Corporation of China, is enclosed by walls, a series of pavilions (eight in all), and covered walkways. These are all organized in an irregular manner to create in addition to the two major courtyards a series of six others of varying sizes. Virtual Tour available.
