Founded in 1978, Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment is dedicated to educating children, individuals and families about the built and natural environments of New York City.
Educating children and adults about the extensive natural and historical resources in NYC parks through various programs, such as Learning Gardens, Green Girls, City Safari Afterschool Program, and Coastal Classroom.
Visits classrooms (November through March) to prepare students for adventures in the Parks this Spring. Programs are designed to stimulate, motivate and inspire students to apply their developing skills in English, Math, Science and History to real-life critical thinking challenges.
