Albert Einstein Fellowships

Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program offers current public or private elementary and secondary mathematics, technology, and science classroom teachers with demonstrated excellence in teaching an opportunity to serve in the national public policy arena for ten months.

Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysics of Alberta's Teacher Awards Program

Recognizes exceptional elementary, junior high and senior high school teachers who teach math or science; 14 winners will each receive $1,000.

Biotechnology Institute

The Genzyme-Invitrogen Biotech Educator Award, formerly the National Biotechnology Teacher-Leader Award, recognizes exemplary teaching at the high school level that has positively impacted students’ understanding of biotechnology’s promise and challenges. The winners receive cash awards of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 respectively and are chosen by a panel of judges from academia, research, and the industry, from among the Institute’s network of Teacher-Leaders.

Columbia University's Summer Research Program for Science Teachers

Participants conduct laboratory research during eight-week fellowship in each of two consecutive summers. They will receive a stipend of $6,000 each summer, plus $2,000 in classroom supplies over the two years, along with opportunities to attend professional conferences.

Drug, Chemical & Allied Trades Association Education Foundation's "Making a Difference" Award

Recognizes excellence in a science program developed by 6-8th grade science teachers with $2,500 to be used to enhance or expand the winning science program.

Earthwatch Educator Fellowship Awards

Awards are awarded through a competitive application process, are considered based on available funding in the applicant's geographic region, financial need, and the benefits that would result from participating on an Earthwatch expedition. Decisions are made on applications beginning in January and ending when funds are exhausted, typically by late spring. Elementary, middle, and high school educators and administrators of any discipline are eligible to apply.

Edith Stevens Groundwater Educator Award

Award to recognize educators who understand the importance of groundwater, motivate others to protect groundwater, and lead by personal example. Anyone actively involved with the implementation and delivery of groundwater education programs is eligible. Nomination Deadline: July 14th annually

Environmental Leadership Program Fellowship

Provides intensive leadership and skills training with opportunities for mentoring, project seed money, and technical support. Ultimately, the goal of ELP is to nurture a new generation of environmental leadership that is characterized by diversity, innovative thinking, coalition building, and effective communications.

Estes Rocketry/U.S. Space Foundation Space Educator Award

Full-time middle school teachers who teach science in a classroom are eligible to receive this award, sponsored by Estes and the USSF, which includes $1,000 and a full-tuition fellowship to attend the Space Discovery Graduate Course in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Lemelson-MIT's Program for Invention and Innovation

Offers grants to support high school invention teams made up of public or vocational high school science, math and technology teachers. Collaborations within schools are encouraged.
