Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development's Outstanding Young Educator Award
Selects one educator to receive the award, including $10,000 and a profile in Educational Leadership magazine, seeks to recognize a teacher under the age of 40 who demonstrates excellence in his or her profession. Criteria include a positive impact on students, creativity in the classroom, and leadership in his or her school or district. Follow the OYEA link under "ASCD Community." C-SPAN Fellowships
Teachers who have demonstrated creative use of C-SPAN programming as a classroom resource can apply for a fellowship that offers a $35,000 stipend, expenses for travel and housing for a four-week session at C-SPAN at Washington, DC.
DisneyHand Teacher Awards
Part of Walt Disney's community outreach program, these awards recognize teachers "who exemplify creativity in teaching and inspire a joy of learning in their students." Awardees will receive cash awards for themselves and their school, expense-paid trip to Los Angeles for a recognition ceremony and to Orlando for a professional development institute.

Do Something BRICK Awards
Honors 6 outstanding leaders age 18 and under and 3 outstanding leaders age 19-25 who develop projects to improve their community. Winners in "18 yrs. & under" category receive a $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 grant; winners in the "19-25" category each receive a $10,000 grant.

Freedom Foundation
Offers awards to honor educators who teaches understanding and enthusiasm for the private enterprise system. Cash awards of $7,500, and a special award of $15,000 can be given for an unusually meritorious entry.

Freeman Experiment Teacher's Project
Sends teachers to China and Japan during the summer.
Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program
Provides American primary and secondary school teachers and administrators with fully-funded short-term study tours of Japan. The program is designed to increase understanding between the people of Japan and the United States by inviting U.S. elementary and secondary educators to visit Japan and share their experiences with fellow Americans upon their return.
Horace Mann Scholarships
The Horace Mann Scholarship programs have awarded more than $700,000 since 1992. Offers $30,000 in annual scholarships to help educators continue their education.
Jacob Javits Fellowship Award
Students of superior ability with financial need, who are beginning their first year of study for a master's or doctoral degree, may apply for a Jacob Javits Fellowship award of up to $42,108.
Metlife Fellow
As a Fellow, you will be part of the Teachers Network Leadership Institute and have the opportunity to influence education policy at the local, state and national levels. Fellows receive a stipend of $1,000.
